THRESHOLD
A SMALL-GROUP WOMEN'S RETREAT
IN CRETE, GREECE
For women ready to live more fully from who they've become
October 2027
Crete, Greece
Six Women
Two Coaches
BETWEEN WHAT IS AND WHAT'S NEXT
When Something in Your Life Begins to Shift
You know something needs to be different.
Maybe you're retiring or changing careers, facing an empty nest, or redefining yourself after a relationship ends. Or you may simply know that something within you has changed.
You're reconsidering how you spend your time, where you put your energy, and what you want the years ahead to look like.
You've learned a great deal about yourself over the years.
You know you want your future to reflect what you know about yourself now, but your days are still shaped by responsibilities and routines you built at a different point in your life.
Yet defining what you want for yourself — and how to begin moving toward it — keeps getting pushed aside as you manage work, family, and relationships.
You want the chance to give these questions your full attention, without the next responsibility pulling you away, and you don’t want to do it on your own.
You may not know what comes next. You may only know that continuing as you are no longer feels right, and you are ready to discover what does.
You've spent years figuring things out on your own.
Now you'd welcome the company of other women and thoughtful guidance as you consider what you want to change and how to begin.
Six Days to Step Out of the Usual

Threshold gives you time away on the Greek island of Crete, away from everyday responsibilities.
Time to enjoy the island, rest, and reset while you give your own life the attention it is so hard to find at home.
The plans are made. The details are handled.
You are not responsible for keeping everything moving.
The freedom to explore a new place, share a long meal and an interesting conversation, settle into a quiet corner with a book, and take space for yourself.
There is time to be with other women, time to yourself, and room for the unexpected discoveries that come from being somewhere new.
And there is support to help you bring focus to your needs, clarify the future you are ready to create, and find a way forward that fits who you are now.
For these six days, you don't have to make sense of what comes next from the margins of your life.
And you don't have to do it alone.
Coaching begins before Crete, continues throughout the retreat, and extends beyond your return home.
You will be supported as you consider what you want from your retreat, what needs to change, how to make choices about how you want to live, and begin putting those choices into practice when you return home.
What Threshold is Designed to Do
Threshold gives you the time, distance, and support to give yourself the focus and consideration you give to every other person and responsibility in your life.
What you take from that time will be individual to you. You may return home with:
A stronger sense of who you are now beyond your roles, bringing what matters most to you into sharper focus.
Greater clarity about what belongs in your life — and what doesn’t — and the confidence to set and hold boundaries.
A clearer sense of what energizes you now and what you want to explore and how to begin making room for it.
A picture of the shape you want the years ahead to take with priorities that can guide the choices you make today.
The first changes you are ready to make when you return home.
Greater trust in your own judgment when making decisions and following through on them.

You may come to Threshold wanting to focus deeply on one of these areas or discover while you're there that something else deserves your attention.
Threshold is designed to help you move from knowing something needs to change to identifying what that change looks like for you and beginning to act on it.
Your Coaching Support
Before, During, and After
Threshold combines the experience of stepping away with individual and group coaching designed to help you make meaningful use of that time.
Before Crete
Your support begins before you arrive in Crete and continues after you've returned to everyday life.
Two private coaching sessions and a group gathering help you begin preparing for the retreat.
We'll explore what brings you to Threshold, what you've already been considering, and what you most want to give your attention to during the retreat.
The group gatherings also provide an opportunity to begin getting to know the women with whom you'll share the experience.
“She (Candice) takes the time to meet me where I’m at.”— Pamela P.
During the Retreat
Coaching takes several forms during our time in Crete.
We'll begin each morning by setting an intention for the day over coffee, and gather again in the evening to reflect on what we've experienced, what has come into focus, and what we want to give further attention to.
Individual and group sessions provide opportunities to explore what you're noticing, examine familiar patterns, consider possibilities, and work through questions or decisions that matter to you.
Coaching is not confined to scheduled sessions. An experience, a conversation over a meal, another woman’s perspective, or a quiet moment of your own may bring something unexpected into focus.
There is room to stay with those discoveries, explore them more deeply, and see where they lead.
With two coaches and just six women, there is room for individual attention as well as the insights and connections that emerge within the group.
After You Return
Your support continues after you return home with one private coaching session and two group gatherings to support as you bring what you've learned into everyday life.
You may be changing how you use your time, approaching a responsibility differently, making a decision, honoring your boundaries, or taking the first steps toward something you've wanted for yourself.
We'll work with what happens as you begin: what is working, what is proving more difficult than expected, and what adjustments may help you continue.
Our time together in Crete is six days. The coaching and support extend well beyond the retreat itself.
“[Working with Candice] I've learned to honour my own voice." — Jenn A.
DIFFERENT PLACE DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES
Place Matters
A different place can open a different kind of conversation.
When you step away from your routines and responsibilities for several days and devote sustained attention to your own life, the destination matters.
New surroundings interrupt familiar patterns, create room for curiosity, and allow you to see your life from another perspective.
It is one of the reasons we chose Crete.

Crete occupies an interesting place between worlds. It lies between Europe and Africa. Mountains meet the sea. Ancient sites exist alongside working farms, villages, and everyday island life.
We also chose Crete because of its ancient history.
Its history reaches back thousands of years, including to the Minoan civilization, where women appear prominently as powerful figures in religious, ceremonial, athletic, and public life.
You will experience Crete through its food, traditions, landscape, and stories, with time on the water, in the mountains, and in the countryside.
It is a place with enough beauty, depth, history, and distance from ordinary life to help you see your own life from a different vantage point as you explore, relax and reflect.
Linda has been my coach for three years. And her retreats are game changers for me. She understands a different place can open a different kind of conversation. . . — Justine L.
THOUGHFULLY DESIGNED
Experience Crete
Our days weave together exploration, coaching, conversation, and time of your own.
Some mornings begin slowly over coffee and breakfast.
An early outing may bring you home with the afternoon still ahead of you; on other days, the morning is open before you begin exploring.
We’ve chosen experiences that allow you to encounter Crete through its land, sea, history, food, and traditions.
All scheduled group experiences, local guides, and transportation are included in your retreat.
This is a sample of how we plan to spend our time in Crete. \
The order and details may change with availability, weather, or local conditions.
Substitutions may be made if necessary.

A Private Cruise on the Cretan Sea
Weather permitting, we’ll spend several hours aboard a privately chartered boat along the island's coast.
A Minoan Archaeological Site in the Mountains
We’ll travel into the mountains to Zominthos, one of six Minoan palatial centers inscribed together on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2025.
Olive Experience at an Ancient Olive Grove
We’ll spend an evening in an olive grove where some trees have stood for more than 2,000 years.
A Day to Yourself
One day will remain largely unscheduled. Our local concierge can help if you would like to arrange an optional activity or transportation.
A Celebratory Final Evening
We’ll close our time in Crete with a chef-prepared dinner featuring the island's flavors and traditions, celebrating our time together before we begin our journey home.

“One of the things I appreciated most about traveling with Linda was that she understands downtime and the need to stop, rest, wander a little, or simply take in where you are.”— Linda N.
Throughout the retreat, excursions will be thoughtfully planned to leave you time to enjoy the pool, long meals that do not need to be rushed, languid afternoons, and evenings together.
WHERE YOU WILL STAY
Your Private Villa
Our private villa is reserved for Threshold.
Built with natural stone and filled with light, it opens toward expansive views of the sea. Its generous indoor and outdoor gathering areas give us a comfortable place for meals, coaching, conversation, and evenings together.
You will have your own sea-facing bedroom and en suite bathroom, unless you choose to share with a friend.

Depending on the room, your room will open onto a terrace or directly toward the pool, giving you a private place facing the sea to step away whenever you want quiet.
The villa includes an infinity pool and an indoor spa area with a sauna and Jacuzzi.
With daily housekeeping and meals at the villa, you will be well cared for without the week feeling formal.

You can take a swim, read outside, use the sauna, nap, listen to music, or close your bedroom door and enjoy being completely on your own.
The villa gives the week a center: a shared home for meals, conversation, and connection, with room to rest, think things through, and enjoy time entirely to yourself.
Villa details will be shared as part of the application process.

WHO WE ARE
Meet Your Hosts

Linda Rhoads, PCC WPCC

Candice Neveu, MA, CLC
Candice and I met in 2019 while training as Wayfinder coaches with Martha Beck. For more than nine months, we learned, practiced, and coached each other every week.
We learned how the other listens, asks questions, and helps someone work through uncertainty without rushing her toward an answer.
Retreats have been part of The Soul Spot since 2021, beginning with a multiday online retreat during the pandemic and followed by private in-person gatherings.
In 2024, we also began setting aside time to retreat together ourselves. We traveled, explored, shared long conversations, laughed a great deal, and helped each other carry what we discovered back into daily life.
Some of the most useful conversations began outside the time we had deliberately set aside, often over a meal or while we were out exploring.
Threshold grew from those experiences and our shared belief that knowing yourself more deeply is only part of the work. The next part is bringing what you know into the way you live.
Linda Rhoads, PCC, WPC
Linda is an ICF Professional Certified Coach and founder of The Soul Spot. Before becoming a coach, she spent more than 25 years in leadership, strategy, confidential advising, and Chief of Staff roles while also raising a family.
Her coaching draws on Whole Person Coaching, Wayfinding, somatic approaches, and trauma-informed practices. She works with women at points of change to sort through complexity, strengthen trust in their own judgment, and make thoughtful choices without forcing an important question into a tidy answer.
Candice Neveu, M.A., CLC
Candice is a Certified Wayfinder Coach, TEDx speaker, educator, and founder of Candice Neveu Coaching. Her own path has included returning to school, changing careers, starting a business, raising a family, and navigating the uncertainty that can accompany meaningful change.
She works with high-achieving women to move through doubt, reconnect with what they know, and trust themselves more fully as they decide what they want next.
INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED
Small By Design
Threshold brings together six women and two coaches in a private villa in Crete.
The small group makes room for meaningful conversations, genuine connection, and individual attention throughout the experience.
There is time to gather over meals, share discoveries, and learn from the different experiences and perspectives each woman brings.
There is also freedom to engage in your own way.
Find a quiet corner to read, spend some time by the pool, enjoy the villa, or simply take a little time for yourself.
You aren't expected to spend every moment with the group.
The experience leaves room for your own needs and interests.
If two participants attend together and share a room, the group may include no more than seven women.
We ask every guest to meet differences with respect and to treat what another woman shares with care and discretion.
You choose what you share.
At The Soul’s Renewal (Retreat) I felt Linda made space for everyone and as though my experience and perspective mattered. The event was both well organized and meaningful. - Cheryl S.
FIT MATTERS
Is Threshold Right for You?
Threshold is designed for self-aware women who have built full lives and are ready to give thoughtful attention to how they want to live now.
It may be a good fit if you:
-
have already spent time getting to know yourself through life experience, therapy, coaching, personal development, or your own reflective practices;
-
are in the middle of a change, approaching one, or far enough beyond one that a different set of questions has begun to surface;
-
may not know exactly what comes next but are ready to give honest attention to what may need to change;
-
want both the pleasure of a beautiful experience in Crete and the substance of thoughtful coaching;
-
are open to honest conversation, new experiences, and the perspectives of women whose lives may be different from your own; and
-
value meaningful connection as well as time and privacy for yourself.
Threshold is less likely to be the right fit if you want a packed sightseeing itinerary, a fitness or yoga retreat, a large social trip, intensive therapeutic support, or a formula that tells you what decision to make.
The retreat includes coaching and guided conversation, but it is not therapy and does not replace mental-health care. It is not intended to provide support during a personal crisis.

HOW TO APPLY
If the Experience Feels Right to You
Threshold is intentionally small, and fit matters. The application process gives us an opportunity to learn what brings you to the retreat and gives you time to decide whether the experience feels right for you.
1. Join the Interest List
Add your name to receive retreat updates and be among the first to know when applications open. Joining the interest list does not obligate you to apply or reserve a place.
2. Complete a Short Application
The application will ask about what brings you to Threshold, what you hope to give your attention to, and anything you would like us to know as we consider the group. You do not need to know exactly what comes next or arrive with a fully formed goal.
3. Meet With Linda and Candice
Linda and Candice will invite you to a private conversation. You will have an opportunity to ask questions, talk about what you are looking for, and consider whether the retreat is right for you.
4. Reserve Your Place
If we all agree that Threshold is a good fit, you will receive the participant agreement and payment instructions. Your place will be confirmed once your signed agreement and deposit have been received.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I attend Threshold on my own?
Yes. You do not need to know another participant before attending. Each guest has her own bedroom and en suite bathroom unless she chooses to attend and share with a friend.
Do I need to know exactly what I want to work on?
No. You may arrive with a particular decision, change, or question in mind, or you may simply know that something in your life needs more attention. The coaching before the retreat will help you consider what you most want to give your attention to while you are in Crete.
How structured will the retreat be?
The retreat includes scheduled coaching, shared meals, and planned experiences, along with time that is not scheduled. Some days will include outings, while others will leave more of the morning or afternoon open. One day will remain largely yours to use as you choose.
Will I be expected to participate in everything?
You are encouraged to take part in the coaching and planned group experiences, but you are not expected to spend every moment with the group. There will be time to rest, enjoy the villa, or step away when you need time to yourself.
Can I share a room?
A limited number of shared-room spaces are available for friends attending together. Both participants must request the shared arrangement. We do not match roommates.
Are airport transfers included?
Airport transfers are included during designated arrival and departure windows. We will provide the airport, timing, and transfer details before you make your travel arrangements. Transportation outside those windows will be at your own expense.
Can I arrive early or stay in Crete after the retreat?
Yes. Any accommodations, meals, transportation, or activities before or after Threshold will be arranged and paid for separately. We will provide travel-planning information to help you consider your options.
Can dietary needs be accommodated?
We will ask about dietary needs during the application and planning process. We will work with the villa and local providers to determine what can be accommodated and discuss any concerns with you before your reservation is confirmed.
How physically demanding are the activities?
The retreat includes walking, time on a boat, and visits to outdoor and historic locations. We will provide more detailed information about accessibility and physical requirements before you reserve your place so that you can determine whether the planned experiences are appropriate for you.
Why is travel insurance required?
Travel insurance helps protect you when unexpected circumstances affect your plans. You will receive information about the insurance requirement before making a reservation and will be responsible for selecting coverage appropriate to your circumstances.
What happens if weather or local conditions affect an excursion?
The order and details of planned experiences may change because of weather, availability, or local conditions. When a scheduled experience cannot take place, we may substitute another experience of comparable value and interest.
What happens if Threshold is cancelled?
If Threshold is cancelled by the retreat organizers, you will receive a full refund of all payments you have made toward the retreat.
We cannot reimburse airfare, travel insurance, accommodations before or after Threshold, or other expenses you arrange independently. This is one reason travel insurance is required.
The complete cancellation terms will be included in the participant agreement you receive before making a reservation.
Travel Administration
For travel administration, The Soul Spot has partnered with Journeys of the Spirit Travel, a California Seller of Travel, CST 2102811-50..
Journeys of the Spirit Travel will manage your registration, payments, and travel-related documentation for the retreat. Before making a reservation, you will receive the complete participant agreement, including payment, cancellation, travel insurance, and other booking terms.
The Soul Spot will provide you with logistical details, travel-planning guidance, and retreat information. The Soul Spot will also collect information needed to support your participation, including your travel details and emergency contact information.
