The Results Are In
Your Success Factor Superpower is
INNATE ABILITY!
I know there’s much more to you than those nine quiz questions, but here is what I do know.
You possess the innate skill that helps you flourish in your realm.
You had a knack for that thing you do so well almost immediately. Maybe it took education or practice or training to master. Either way, while others needed to nurture the skill through extensive practice, it came to you easier than most. It makes sense that you prefer opportunities that allow you to use these natural abilities so that you can move through whatever it is you're doing with ease and speed. Using your natural talent generates a drive that naturally enhances your productivity. This positive energy may even make learning new things easier.

What's not to appreciate about that?
However, just like our beloved superheroes,
our superpowers also have a shadow side.

While your superpower can help you through small bursts of stress, your shadow side is likely to show up in prolonged high-pressure situations. These are the situations that put your innate ability superpower into overdrive.

When this happens, your innate ability may show up as a need to only take on things you know and you can do well. Suddenly, your natural talent superpower shifts into a more fear-based mindset and may lead to you limiting your opportunities. You may find yourself sticking to things you can do quickly and easily.
We all recognize that there are times when we need to rely almost exclusively on our natural talents. However, life and work often require a willingness to try things we’ve never done before, and even to struggle through the process of learning something completely new – and that’s okay.

When natural talent amplifies into only doing what you know you do well, and the volume isn’t regularly turned down, it can be difficult on those around you. More importantly, it can take a huge toll on you.
And here’s the kicker: the tendency to only do what you know how do to quickly and easily often reveals an overactive inner critic.
That's right, when your need to do only what you can do well becomes active it might be cloaking other thoughts. When you can't do something quickly and easily your inner critic reminds you that doing things quickly and easily is a sign of competence. As stress grows your inner critic does too, and your greatest qualities are overshadowed and your superpower sparkle is dimmed.

In these instances, instead of thriving on learning and growing, you succumb to a spiral of feeling that the challenges you encounter when doing something new are a sign you are in over your head.

Despite this, remember that your innate ability is a superpower. When you are in your talent zone you quickly and easily do what needs to be done with energy and enthusiasm. However when your tasks and activities are outside of your comfort zone you may find highly critical thoughts about yourself increase. Therefore, it's worth paying attention to and keeping in check.
